Guest Lecture for a Songdo Campus course
Tomorrow night, I am guest lecturing for a Honors sequence course (GLOA 491) in Mason Songdo Campus. The course is for the Songdo campus students who are in honors and will complete it when they are in Fairfax campus later. It is really a method course getting them prepared for their honors thesis.
My guest lecture will introduce them to the making of an actual quantitative research project. The slide is here. While it has an example to work with (my Blacklist paper), the lecture will be more about grasping how a project is conceived and then implemented than a typical research talk.
This will probably be the last time I am creating a #Xaringan slide for a lecture (for research presentations, it has been mostly Overleaf-Beamer). I loved Xaringan for its flexibility, particularly in dealing with online media materials. But I find myself bogged down by the problems related to xaringan::inf()
too much. I mean, how many times do I have to re-render? I am tinkering with QMD Presentations. This ‘starter kit’ looks quite promising.
